 Jessie J, Adele and Rihanna were the big winners at this year's MOBO Awards in Glasgow - and you can see the full list of who triumphed now on Gigwise.


The London singer took home four awards for Best Song for 'Do It Like A Dude', Best Album for 'Who YouAre', Best Newcomer and Best UK Act at the bash in Glasgow's SECC  last night (October 5). 

Adele picked up the award for 'Best R&B/Soul Act', whileRihanna was voted the 'Best International Act'. 

Tinchy Stryder and Dappy shared the award for 'Best Video' for their duet 'Spaceship' and Tinie Tempah was named 'Best Hip-Hop/Grime Act'.

The 2011 MOBO Awards was hosted by Jason Derulo and Alesha Dixon.

 British rapper Professor Green and Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé will be giving an exclusive performance at this year’s MOBO Awards in association with Lebara Mobile which will be returning to Glasgow’s SECC on 5th October.

The duo will treat the Glasgow audience to a unique performance of their new track Read All About It which is released next month. The chart topping pair will be joined on stage by a string quartet which will be sure to make for a show stopping performance.


Emeli Sandé will perform her first solo single Heaven, which scored her a number two hit earlier this year. Furthermore, Emeli is hoping to pick up her first MOBO Award on the night as she is nominated for the Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile, which fans can vote for on the official MOBO Facebook page.


MOBO will also pay respect to the late Amy Winehouse with a special tribute led by Amy’s goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield. Dionne, the 15 year old who is nominated for the Best UK R&B/Soul Act, will perform a specially selected Amy song as MOBO remember and honour her unique, soulful contribution to music.


Alesha Dixon will join Jason Derulo to co-host, who will also be showing off his impressive moves with an exclusive performance, while backstage presenters Dappy and Tinchy Stryder will take to the stage to give a joint performance. R’n’B heavyweights Boyz II Men, soul sensation Jessie J, UK Dubstep star Katy B, UK garage MC Ms Dynamite, grime star Wretch 32 and American R’n’B princess Alexis Jordan complete the line-up.

The Glasgow SECC will also welcome appearances from Rizzle Kicks, Yasmin, Chipmunk, N’Dubz’s Fazer and Labrinth.

MOBO CEO and founder Kanya King comments: “Amy made a huge impact on the music industry – we want to honour and celebrate this and the special tribute from Dionne is sure to be an emotional and moving experience for all involved. This year’s show is certainly going to be a memorable night full of surprises – we hope that Glasgow is ready for us!”

MOBO is also shaking up the voting system this year by hosting one category exclusively on Facebook where fans can cast their vote as often as once a day for the Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile on www.facebook.com/moboofficial to ensure their favourite artist takes the title. The ten nominees in this category are watching their numbers go up and are asking for their fans’ support. Boyz II Men will be celebrating 20 years in music with a special performance at this year’s MOBO Awards in association with Lebara Mobile which will be returning to Glasgow’s SECC on 5th October.

Selling over 60 million albums world-wide, Boyz II Men are the most successful R’n’B group of all time.  They found fame back in the 1990’s with chart topping hits including End of the Road, I’ll Make Love To You and One Sweet Day and now brothers Nathan  and Wayna Morris and Shawn Stockman are back to wow the Glasgow audience with their famous a capella harmonies and soulful ballads as they celebrate their 20th anniversary. 


Wanya Morris, comments:  “We have always been fans of the MOBO Awards and to have the opportunity to perform while celebrating our 20th anniversary is not only exciting, but very humbling.  We LOVE going to the UK – we are trying to find a way to stay over there and hang for a few days!" 


Shawn Stockman: "When we got asked to do the MOBO Awards, it was a quick "Oh hell yes!” 

As well as performing a melody of their classic hits, the group will also give fans a sneak preview of tracks from their brand new album Twenty released on the 17th October, which is the group’s newest material in 10 years. 

The R’n’B super group join an already stellar line-up of performers who are poised to set the MOBO stage alight, including soul sensation Jessie J, UK Dubstep star Katy B and American R’n’B princess Alexis Jordan.   Fellow R’n’B superstar Jason Derulo has also been revealed as co-host of the awards and will be showing off his impressive moves with an exclusive performance. 

This news comes ahead of the nomination announcement tonight (31st August) where the full list of nominees will be revealed. MOBO will also be shaking up the voting system this year by hosting one category exclusively on Facebook where fans will be able to cast their vote for the Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile on www.facebook.com/moboofficial to ensure their favourite artist takes the title.

Jessie J, Katy B and Alexis Jordan revealed for the MOBO Awards

The MOBO Awards in association with Lebara Mobile will be returning to Glasgow’s SECC on October 5th and it is due to be a night for the ladies.  Already confirmed to set the stage alight is chart-topper Jessie J who hit the number one spot with ‘Price Tag’ taken from her debut album ‘Who You Are’ earlier this year. She will be joined by UK Dub Step star Katy B and American R’n’B princess Alexis Jordan who stormed the charts with her debut ‘Happiness’ last year.

The chart-topping trio are the first of this year’s performers to be revealed with further acts to be announced in the run up to the awards in October.

Jessie J commented: "I cannot wait to rock the stage - I have always wanted to perform at the MOBO Awards and it’s an honour to be asked. Good times!"
